About Us
Custom Surface Solutions is an owner operated of the family business with his spouse Karon Thompson. They work together in providing the Austin Metro area with quality and reliable tile installation and remodeling services..
Craig is a Master Tile Setter and Bathroom / Kitchen Remodeler who learned how to set tile in California while attending high school. He has been installing tile and providing remodeling solutions on a full time basis for the past 10 years. Previous to starting Custom Surface Solutions he spent 35 years in the electronic design automation industry including product marketing, business development, application and product engineering and as a mask designer working for companies such as IBM, Motorola, Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor and other companies. During this career Craig and Karon moved several times remodeling two of their pre-owned homes in San Jose, CA. They also had two semi-custom homes built, one in Keller, TX and one in Round Rock, TX and built a custom home in Leander, TX.Karon manages the business including office management, book keeping, shipping and receiving, purchasing, design consultation and material selection and consulting.
Together, Craig and Karon's own remodeling experience contribute to their own personal remodeling and home construction experience and apply it towards every customer project as if it was their own home. Our reviews reflect the appreciation they have for that experience and attitude towards their projects and the satisfaction of the completed project.
